asech

Compute the hyperbolic arcsecant of a number.

Usage

var asech = require( '@stdlib/math/base/special/asech' );

asech( x )

Computes the hyperbolic arcsecant of x.

var v = asech( 1.0 );
// returns 0.0

v = asech( 0.5 );
// returns ~1.317

v = asech( 0.0 );
// returns Infinity

The domain of x is restricted to the interval [0, 1]. For x outside of this interval, the function returns NaN.

var v = asech( -1.0 );
// returns NaN

v = asech( 2.0 );
// returns NaN

Examples

var linspace = require( '@stdlib/array/base/linspace' );
var asech = require( '@stdlib/math/base/special/asech' );

var x = linspace( 0.1, 1.0, 100 );

var i;
for ( i = 0; i < x.length; i++ ) {
    console.log( asech( x[ i ] ) );
}

C APIs

Usage

#include "stdlib/math/base/special/asech.h"

stdlib_base_asech( x )

Computes the hyperbolic arcsecant of x.

double out = stdlib_base_asech( 1.0 );
// returns 0.0

The function accepts the following arguments:

  • x: [in] double input value.
double stdlib_base_asech( const double x );

Examples

#include "stdlib/math/base/special/asech.h"
#include <stdio.h>

int main( void ) {
    const double x[] = { 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.89, 2.33, 3.22, 3.67, 4.11, 4.56, 5.0 };

    double v;
    int i;
    for ( i = 0; i < 10; i++ ) {
        v = stdlib_base_asech( x[ i ] );
        printf( "asech(%lf) = %lf\n", x[ i ], v );
    }
}
